Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation (RCBC) has made a significant move to enhance its premium credit card product, the RCBC World Mastercard. The new card aims to enrich the everyday experiences of cardholders by making purchases more rewarding, with nearly instantaneous points redemptions. Alongside enhanced premium lifestyle benefits, it offers unparalleled travel privileges, all tailored to meet the needs of discerning, affluent Filipinos. According to RCBC President and CEO Mr. Eugene S. Acevedo, “The RCBC World Mastercard is not just a credit card; it’s your key to unlocking a world of exquisite privileges.”
The launch event in Manila showcased the added benefits of earning non-expiring Rewards Points, starting from as low as Php 10 for international spend, whether in-store or face-to-face. Domestic spending, including bill payments, earns 1 Rewards Point for every Php 30 spent. This effectively positions RCBC as offering a card that combines luxury with practicality.
In collaboration with Mastercard, RCBC has introduced a unique feature called Pay with Rewards, allowing cardholders to use their rewards points to cover the cost of recent purchases with Erica, RCBC Credit Card’s user-friendly virtual assistant. As RCBC Credit Cards President and CEO Mr. Arniel Vincent B. Ong noted, “The ability to instantly redeem points through Erica emphasizes RCBC’s commitment to convenience and customer-centric innovation.”
The RCBC World Mastercard also enhances the travel experience for cardholders. Benefits include complimentary travel insurance upon booking, as well as pre-flight lounge access. Cardholders receive a complimentary Priority Pass for free lounge use anywhere in the world each calendar year, along with unlimited access to PAGSS International Lounges at NAIA 1 and 3, including a travel companion. Additionally, RCBC World Mastercard holders enjoy exclusive access to a collection of bespoke travel, dining, and shopping experiences that feature discounts at preferred hotels and resorts, as well as promotions like One Dines Free. Mastercard Country Manager-Philippines, Mr. Simon Javier Calasanz, remarked, “Mastercard has a wide network of global partners, and this benefit allows RCBC World Mastercard holders to enjoy priceless experiences.”
Sustainability is also a key focus of the RCBC World Mastercard. According to RCBC Credit Cards First VP Ma. Angela C. Mirasol, “RCBC and Mastercard, like our cardholders, are committed to sustainability. This beautifully designed card is made from 100% recycled plastic. It’s more than just a payment tool; it’s a statement that value lies not only in what we purchase but also in the choices we make.”
The launch of the RCBC World Mastercard is more than just the introduction of a new credit card; it invites customers to embrace a rewarding lifestyle filled with convenience, exclusivity, and benefits.
RCBC is one of the fastest-growing credit card issuers in the Philippines, boasting a base of over 1.2 million cardholders. As of the third quarter of 2024, its issuing billings have increased by 43%, with receivables growing by 51%, all while maintaining a low past-due ratio of 3.4%.
