The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) has announced its partnership with the PDAX, to facilitate easier, faster, and seamless cryptocurrency donations as it continues to aid the Filipino community.

“For decades, PRC has been a lifeline for Filipinos nationwide, especially in remote areas. Working with PDAX to facilitate Filipinos’ donations to support our vital humanitarian efforts will ensure that we are able to amplify the impact of our initiatives, thus fostering a powerful synergy between technology and compassion for lasting change,” said Richard “Dick” Gordon, Philippine Red Cross Chairman and CEO.

Help in an instant

In recent years, crypto’s role has evolved to include cross-border money transfers. Many non-profit organizations now acknowledge its potential to facilitate transparent and efficient donations, prompting the widespread adoption of this technology for global charitable initiatives. According to 2022 data from The Giving Block, a crypto-donations company, at least 1,000 organizations contributed $125 million worth of cryptocurrencies through their platform. The crypto donation sector is expected to grow by over $10 billion in the next 10 years.

“Cryptocurrency donations offer transparency through traceable blockchain records, faster transactions, and global accessibility. With reduced costs and decentralization, more funds directly support charitable causes, streamlining the donation process and increasing efficiency,” said Nichel Gaba, PDAX CEO.

Licensed by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, PDAX takes pride in providing a secure and user-friendly platform for Filipinos to buy, sell, and trade virtual currencies. Aligned with its mission to empower Filipinos with accessible financial services, PDAX Donate enables non-profit organizations to effortlessly receive cryptocurrency donations.

With PDAX Donate, assistance is just seconds away from anywhere in the world. Unlike traditional channels, crypto donations eliminate waiting times and strengthen transparency, bringing financial aid reaches victims of calamities and disasters to where it’s needed most, when it’s needed. PDAX’s use of blockchain technology ensures stakeholders, donors, and partners can make donations with flexibility and convenience, facilitating quick and efficient support.

“Donating through cryptocurrency transforms the act of giving—making it not only easier and faster but also seamless. With crypto, generosity becomes an immediate force, propelling positive change with incredible efficiency,” Gaba added.

How PDAX Donate works

Currently, foreign donors encounter limitations in sending funds to Philippine-based groups, facing delays and high fees from traditional financial services. PDAX Donate addresses this by providing NGOs access to a global donor community, accepting real-time crypto donations with lower transaction costs. With 37 supported tokens, including Bitcoin, Ether, and Ripple, PDAX Donate offers a swift and cost-effective solution.

Contributed crypto donations are swiftly converted to Philippine Peso and directly sent to the PRC’s bank account through PDAX Donate. This offers a faster, cost-effective channel for PRC to receive crypto donations, with no minimum balance requirement and the flexibility to withdraw funds anytime.

How to donate through PDAX Donate

Donating through PDAX Donate is simple and instant. Donors can send the pledged amount using any of the 37 cryptocurrencies currently available on the PDAX app.
