On April 4, 2024, the SGV Foundation, represented by its Chairman and President Wilson Tan, and the Philippine School of Business Administration (PSBA), a unit under STI Education Systems Holdings Inc., represented by its Chairman Eusebio Tanco, signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) whereby the SGV Foundation pledged scholarship grants to 25 qualified and meritorious students pursuing degrees in accountancy for the academic years 2024-2027.
The commitment underscores the SGV Foundation’s dedication to nurturing talent and supporting equitable access to quality education. Recognizing the vital role of accountants in the growing economy and the challenges talented individuals face in pursuing higher education, the SGV Foundation pledge significantly contributes to overcoming barriers in achieving the goals and aspirations of these individuals. With this pledge, the SGV Foundation will enable beneficiary-students to embark on a transformative journey towards becoming Bachelor of Science in Accountancy graduates.
The MOA signing took place at the STI Holdings Center in Makati City. SGV Foundation Trustee and concurrent SGV & Co. Vice Chair and Deputy Managing Partner Maria Vivian Ruiz, SGV Foundation Trustee, Vice Chairman and Executive Vice President and concurrent SGV & Co. Assurance Leader Martin Guantes and STI Vice Chairman and PSBA President Monico Jacob acted as witnesses.
Also in attendance were SGV Foundation Corporate Secretary and concurrent SGV & Co. General Counsel Carolina Francisca Racelis, SGV Foundation Trustee and concurrent SGV & Co. Strategy and Transactions Leader Noel Rabaja, STI Vice President Elbert de Guzman, and STI CFO Yollie Bautista.
