In response to the eruption of Mt. Kanlaon, Shopee has launched a donation drive to deliver aid to affected communities in partnership with various humanitarian organizations.

Until June 21, Shopee users can purchase donation vouchers from GMA Kapuso Foundation and Caritas Manila through the e-commerce platform.

“The eruption of Mt. Kanlaon has had a devastating impact on the health and livelihoods of our kababayans in Negros. Now more than ever, the entire Shopee community will continue to maximize its platform and resources to provide relief to our fellow Filipinos in need,” shared Vincent Lee, Head of Shopee Philippines. “Alongside our partner organizations, we aim to harness the power of digital transformation for the benefit of Filipinos, wherever they are in the Philippines.”

Users can access e-vouchers for Mt. Kanlaon victims through the Shopee Bayanihan microsite:

  1. Visit https://shopee.ph/m/shopee-bayanihan or look up ‘Shopee Bayanihan’ in the app.
  2. Choose the e-voucher of your preferred charity.
  3. Click “Buy Now” to purchase the donation vouchers.

With Alert Level 2 maintained on Mt. Kanlaon’s restiveness, communities near Mt. Kanlaon continue to suffer from the heavy sulfur dioxide flux and volcanic earthquakes.
