Filipinos flock to Singapore for numerous reasons, each drawing them to the “Lion City” for a unique experience. Some seek adventure, beckoned by the futuristic cityscape, world-class theme parks, and vibrant nightlife. Others prioritize family bonding, relishing the diverse culinary scene, educational attractions like Gardens by the Bay, and kid-friendly activities like the Singapore Zoo. Business travelers, meanwhile, find Singapore’s efficient infrastructure and strategic location ideal for conferences, meetings, and networking opportunities.
As with visiting other destinations, finding the ideal hotel can make the trip enjoyable tenfold.
Location matters immensely, whether you prioritize proximity to iconic sights, lively districts, or family-friendly areas. Budget and amenities play a significant role, too, with options ranging from luxurious stays with breathtaking views to budget-friendly havens offering essential comforts. Choosing the right hotel elevates your Singapore experience ultimately, ensuring it aligns perfectly with your purpose and preferences. It becomes your home base, shaping your daily itinerary and influencing the memories you create in this dynamic Southeast Asian nation.
Fortunately, I stayed in Singapore in style at the vibrant Aloft Singapore Novena Hotel, one of the largest Aloft hotels in the world, in Zhongshan Park, along Balestier Heritage Trail.
It combines the concept of next-generation technology with vibrant spaces to create new, unforgettable experiences that cater to people of all ages and walks of life.
What I love about Aloft Singapore Novena
Let’s get into the details of why I enjoyed my stay at Aloft Singapore Novena.
One of the first things I appreciated about the hotel is its location in the Novena District, an exclusive enclave within the boundaries of the Central Region of Singapore. It is one of Singapore’s best neighborhoods, home to fine dining, luxury hotels, and world-class shopping.
You can easily access restaurants, cafes, and shopping complexes from the hotel to give you that holistic travel experience. If you’re looking for a quick ride around the city, Aloft Singapore Novena is near the MRT station, making it a great starting point for trips around the district.
Some iconic landmarks, such as the Singapore Botanic Garden and the bustling shoppers’ haven of Orchard Road, are also easily accessible, treating guests to the quiet serenity of the natural environment and the vibrant heart of Singapore.
It’s hard to miss Aloft Singapore Novena, especially since it takes up two towers with an impressive total of 781 rooms and four suites, each ranging from 18 sqm to 46 sqm. Talk about spaciousness. The Breezy Rooms are in the East Wing at No. 1 Jalan Rajah, Singapore 329133. The Urban Rooms and One-Bedroom Suites are at West Wing at 16 Ah Hood Road Singapore, 329982.
Upon checking in, I saw how the lobby was bustling with travelers from across the globe, either in Singapore for business, pleasure, or both. And entering the hotel was already an experience in itself. Who couldn’t help but be awestruck at the sleek, contemporary design complemented by bright flashes of color and whimsical artwork to invoke modernity? But the beauty of Aloft Singapore Novena doesn’t stop there. There’s more that awaits inside their guest rooms.
I stayed in one of Aloft’s modern and cozy Urban Rooms, equipped with Sealy mattresses, refreshing showerheads, and free Wi-Fi.

The guestroom design draws inspiration from the lively shophouses found within the historic neighborhood, reflecting the allure of Singapore’s colorful past. Besides the plush mattress, which I genuinely enjoyed, each room has a 55” flat-screen television, ample in-room USB charging ports, and wireless charging capabilities to ensure guests can stay seamlessly connected. It’s perfect for people like me who like to capture every moment using my gadgets.
However, one of the things that piqued my interest was how the hotel combined vibrant colors and designs with modular furniture. My room maximized the space, and the hidden storage was a plus, especially for someone who likes to keep their surroundings organized.
From my room, I had a breathtaking view overlooking the area. I could watch the sky transition from day to night and again as the city continued its daily routine.
A feast for the senses
What’s one thing many people look forward to when staying in hotels? If you said the food, then you’re right. Another bonus when you stay at Aloft Singapore Novena is that it has two wings: a Halal-certified buffet restaurant at the East Wing and a modern Chinese restaurant at the West Wing.
Yuè, the hotel’s modern Chinese restaurant, serves a contemporary twist of traditional Chinese fare. Meanwhile, 21 on Rajah, a halal-certified buffet restaurant, offers innovative Mediterranean and Asian buffet cuisine that fits every palate.
The brand’s signature W XYZ® bar at the lobby is the hotel’s social hub and serves invigorating cocktails and light bites. I had the Milo Ted-nosaur mocktail. It is so good! W XYZ Bar also features live acoustic sets from local artists on weekends.
For those on the go, Re:fuel by Aloft offers the option to grab and go 24/7 from a selection of flavourful light meals and drinks.
After exploring Aloft Singapore Novena, I realized that the hotel doesn’t just offer diverse culinary choices. It also has several lifestyle amenities to cater to everyone’s preferences, whether they want to sweat it out in the gym or take a relaxing dip by the pool.
The 24/7 Re:charge Indoor and Outdoor gym in the West Wing, and the Re:charge Indoor gym in the East Wing. Located adjacent to the Indoor and Outdoor Gym is the Splash Pool, where guests can relax and socialize on the open deck.
Moreover, the hotel boasts five state-of-the-art modern meeting spaces, each meticulously designed to cater to diverse guest needs and complete with cutting-edge audio-visual technology and a stunning LED video wall. The hotel’s outdoor event lawn even provides guests with an alternative event space, perfect for a birthday party or an intimate wedding reception.
Stylish, accessible, and comfortable. These are only some of the positive remarks I can say about my entire stay at the Aloft Singapore Novena.
When you visit Singapore for the first time or yet again, look no further than Aloft Singapore Novena to get an accessible yet stylish experience.
