The remix, produced by JAKOPS (SIMON JUNHO PARK), Executive Producer/CEO of XGALX, has garnered considerable attention when he performed as a DJ during XG’s inaugural world tour, “XG 1st WORLD TOUR ‘The First HOWL’”.
Born in Seattle and influenced by both Japanese and Korean cultures, JAKOPS has infused the original track with fresh charm. The remix features eight prominent rappers representing Japanese and Korean hip-hop: Jay Park, OZworld, AKLO, Paloalto, VERBAL (m-flo), Awich, Tak, and Dok2, creating a vibrant cultural fusion that adds a new synergy to the original track.
“WOKE UP” has achieved remarkable success, ranking on the Billboard Japan Hot 100 for eight consecutive weeks and topping the Global Japan Songs Excl. Japan chart for nine weeks. The music video has also made waves, ranking first on YouTube’s trending charts in the U.S. and 19 countries and regions.
