In 2024, CreaZion Studios brought the acclaimed body-horror film The Substance, written and directed by Coralie Fargeat, to Philippine cinemas. Now, the creative powerhouse is delivering yet another world-class experience to local audiences with No Other Choice, the latest work from celebrated director Park Chan-wook (Oldboy (2003), The Handmaiden (2016)). The film opens in Philippine cinemas on October 29.

No Other Choice is led by actors Lee Byung-hun (Squid Game) and Son Ye-jin (Crash Landing On You). As of this writing, the film holds a 100% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes and has been praised as one of Park’s most gripping dramas. It’s about a desperate struggle for survival that resonates deeply with audiences worldwide.

The story follows Man-su (Lee Byung-hun), a seasoned paper manufacturing specialist with 25 years of experience. Content with his life, he often tells himself, “I’ve got it all.” Happily spending his days with his wife Miri (Son Ye-jin), their two children, and two dogs, his world suddenly collapses when he is laid off.

Reeling from the shock, Man-su vows to secure a new job within three months to support his family. But after more than a year of failed interviews and odd jobs, he faces the devastating risk of losing the home he worked so hard to buy. In a final desperate attempt, he approaches Moon Paper, only to be humiliated by line manager Sun-chul (Park Hee-soon). Convinced of his worth, Man-su makes a fateful decision:

‘If there is no opening for me, I’ll just have to get hired by creating an opening.’

“We’re thrilled to bring this highly anticipated film to Filipino audiences. It has been receiving remarkable attention overseas, and as part of our mission, we want to share international stories that resonate strongly with Filipinos,” says RJ Agustin, CEO of CreaZion Studios.

You don’t have a choice—mark your calendars! Watch South Korea’s official entry to the 98th Academy Awards, No Other Choice, in Philippine cinemas starting October 29.
