In a country where delicious food is central to every home, Ajinomoto Philippines Corporation (APC Group) is taking bold steps to make healthy eating both accessible and enjoyable for Filipino families. Through the “I Love Veggie-Licious Barangay Caravan ”, APC Group is bringing nutrition education and practical cooking demonstrations straight to communities—empowering families, particularly mothers, with the knowledge and skills to integrate more vegetables into their meals while minimizing food waste.
Following a successful first leg in Barangay Pasong Tamo, the second leg of the caravan recently made its way to Barangay Holy Spirit, engaging over 250 residents in a dynamic, hands-on learning experience. The campaign has now reached a total of almost 500 participants across two barangays, with more locations lined up in the coming months.
Revolutionizing Home-Cooked Meals: Cooking Made Easy, Healthy, and Delicious
The I Love Veggie-Licious Barangay Caravan is designed to inspire healthier cooking habits by showing just how simple and flavorful vegetable-based dishes can be. Each session features Interactive Cooking Demonstrations – Showcasing easy-to-replicate, budget-friendly, and delicious veggie-packed recipes that fit the Filipino palate. Expert Nutrition Advice – Led by Ajinomoto Philippines’ Nutrition Advancement Manag er, Ms. Debbie Fajarda, sharing practical tips on balanced eating and how to make everyday meals more nutritious for the whole family. Sustainability Talks – Introducing the “Too Good To Waste” initiative, which educates families on reducing food waste and maximizing every ingredient.
“Many Filipino parents want to serve healthier meals, but they struggle with accessibility, preparation, and making vegetables more appealing to their families especially the kids. Through this caravan, we help bridge that gap by sharing simple solutions that will encourage kids love veggies and make healthy eating part of their everyday lives,” shared Debbie Fajarda during her talk at the event.

Part of the attendees who joined the fun activities was content creator Mommy Maica who is a mom-fluencer, who excitedly shared a recap of what it’s like attending the I Love Veggie-Licious Barangay Caravan through a creative video explaining how this has benefited a mom like her in so many ways, especially in being mindful with nutrition.
“It’s nice that we also get to share our own experiences as content creators, especially if it is focused with our main content, which is motherhood and taking care of our children. The I Love Veggie-Licious Barangay Caravan allowed us to do this, and creating the content was more of a story telling shared to friends, which makes it even more fun and interesting.”
