The roar of engines met Filipino pride as Alfonsi Daquigan, one of the Philippines’ most promising young riders, took on soon to be top international talents at the European Talent Cup (ETC) Round 2. Held at the iconic Circuito de Jerez – Angel Nieto in Spain, the event marked another major milestone in Alfonsi’s ongoing journey toward becoming the first Filipino MotoGP rider—a dream backed by the power and belief of Honda Philippines, Inc. (HPI).

At just 15 years old, Alfonsi has become a beacon for the next generation of Filipino racers. With a quiet confidence, relentless work ethic, and years of disciplined training in Europe, he is steadily making his mark on the global racing stage.

Honda believes to the dreams of the Filipino youth, Alfonsi Daquigan’s journey shows us what can happen when talent meets opportunity. Through our racing programs, HPI is committed to create real pathways for young riders in the Philippines to pursue world-class racing careers. Alfonsi is just one of them.

Honda has long championed the development of future champions—not just through technology, but through mentorship, global training programs, and deep investment in the dreams of young riders. Alfonsi is one of the first Filipinos to benefit from this support, training rigorously with European teams to master racing strategies, physical performance, and competitive mindsets essential for a MotoGP-level racing.

The European Talent Cup is one of the most competitive stepping stones to professional motorcycle racing, and Alfonsi’s participation serves as a rallying point for young Filipino fans—not just as spectators, but as aspiring athletes. His journey reflects Honda’s deeper mission: to build not just machines, but a movement of young champions.

Alfonsi’s rise is fueled by grit, humility, and a support system that believes in his long game. He’s not chasing fame—he’s chasing legacy. And with Honda behind him, he is inspiring the new generation of riders to take the handlebars of their own future.
