With engines roaring and hearts pounding, a new chapter in Philippine motorsports history unfolds as Rider No. 51, Alfonsi Daquigan, the young racing prodigy from the Honda Philippines Junior Talent Team under Honda Asia Dream Racing junior team, officially took to the grid in the prestigious European Talent Cup (ETC)—not just racing for podiums, but for pride, passion, and the future of Filipino racing.

At just 15 yrs. old, Alfonsi is already proving what countless young riders across the Philippines dream of—that the road from local circuits to the global stage is real and achievable with focus and discipline. He isn’t just riding for himself. He carries the hopes of every Filipino who’s ever imagined donning a racing suit, leaning into corners at full speed, and hearing their name cheered from the stands.

Showcasing his skills thru the smooth cornering, intelligent overtakes, and the composure of a seasoned professional—despite going head-to-head with Asia and Europe’s fiercest 55 junior competitors. In his debut performance, Daquigan qualified for the grid in 19th position. He finished 20th in Race 1, then followed it up with a solid improvement to 11th place in Race 2and getting the 17th position in overall standing for the first time.

“This journey isn’t just mine—it belongs to every Filipino rider who dreams big,” shares Alfonsi. “I’m here because of years of hard work, sacrifice, and the support of my family, coaches, and Honda. I’m racing to make my country proud.”

Alfonsi’s performance in the ETC is also about the story behind them. It’s attending early morning routines with the countless laps, the quiet discipline, and the humility that makes him not just a rising star—but a role model.

Backed by Honda Philippines, Inc. and mentored through the Honda Junior Talent Program, Alfonsi’s journey showcases how Filipino resilience, sportsmanship, and raw talent can thrive under pressure and stand tall not only in Asia but also in Europe.

Whether on-track or off, Alfonsi has already become a beacon for the next generation of riders.

Alfonsi Daquigan is a testament to what’s possible when passion meets purpose. HPI is proud to support his journey and committed to building more opportunities for young Filipino riders to chase their dreams on the world stage.
