Award-winning drama anthology Magpakailanman continues its tradition of impactful storytelling with its upcoming episode, “Bata Bata, Paano Ka Kinasal?” airing this Saturday, tackling the urgent social issue of child-bride.

Sparkle teen actress Ashley Sarmiento takes on the challenging role of Cherry, a young provincial girl forced into marriage. She is joined by seasoned actors Romnick Sarmenta as Berting and Maureen Larrazabal as Adelfa, who portray her parents.

“Bata Bata, Paano Ka Kinasal?” follows the distressing journey of Cherry, a poor provincial girl who grew up maltreated by her aunt Lisa, constrained to work as a construction helper, and was forced by her parents to marry an old businessman at the tender age of 13.

Unseen by her family, Cherry suffers in silence as she endures repeated domestic violence and abuse at the hands of her husband.

Joining them in this episode are Sparkle teen star Aidan Veneracion, alongside Mel Kimura and William Lorenzo. The episode is penned by John Roque and directed by Gil Tejada, Jr.

Don’t miss this compelling episode of Magpakailanman this Saturday, 8:15 p.m., on GMA Network and Kapuso Stream.
