After a successful streak of bringing award-winning Hollywood hits to local audiences, Ayala Malls Cinemas continues to redefine the moviegoing experience with the exclusive theatrical release of the terrifying and visually arresting horror film “The Demon Disorder.”

Directed by Steven Boyle, this must-see thriller originally premiered on Shudder, the go-to streaming platform for horror, thriller and supernatural fiction fans. Now, for the first time, it haunts the big screen – only at Ayala Malls Cinemas starting April 9. Get your tickets now at sureseats.com.

Marking the directorial debut from special effects master Boyle (“The Matrix” trilogy, “The Hobbit”), “The Demon Disorder” is a demonic Australian horror movie that finds three brothers reunited after the youngest is possessed by their deceased father. How do you defeat a presence that knows you inside and out? An anger so powerful it refuses to stay dead? The demonic dad is played by John Noble, well-known in the geek community as Dr. Walter Bishop in the sci-fi TV series “Fringe” and as Denethor in “The Lord of the Rings: Two Towers” and “The Return of the King.” Rounding out the talented cast are Charles Cottier, Dirk Hunter and Christian Willis, who play the three brothers.

The special effects in this horror movie are top-notch, as to be expected from effects master Boyle. “The effects in the last act are gooey, slimy and quite impressive for a low-budget film,” writes review blog Voices From the Balcony. “Boyle knew what he wanted – from an eye growing in someone’s chest to the fully grown creature that emerges from another character.”

Writes Morbidly Beautiful, “‘The Demon Disorder’ is a grotesquely beautiful addition to the horror genre. Its potent blend of body horror and emotional depth will satisfy fans of practical effects-driven nightmares.”

In their review, Fiction Machine couldn’t hide their excitement about the movie: “‘The Demon Disorder’ is a rock-solid, hugely entertaining genre piece. It knows its audience, and while it does not provide anything specifically innovative or new it demonstrates a keen understanding of audience expectations and horror conventions. Put simply: if it sounds like something you would enjoy, it almost certainly is.”

This April, discover rare and hard-to-find horror gems exclusively at Ayala Malls Cinemas. Kicking off the month is “The Demon Disorder,” followed by a thrilling lineup of classic Filipino horror films returning to the big screen. Whether you’re after cult favorites or cinematic curiosities, Ayala Malls Cinemas is the go-to destination for movie lovers seeking films you won’t easily find anywhere else.

And the quality is not exclusive to the titles that are being offered, but extends to the actual movie-watching experience too. Plush seating and generous legroom, cutting-edge laser projections for sharper images, and top-notch Dolby Sound and Dolby Atmos technologies to enhance audio depth – these make for an unforgettable premium experience that movie lovers will want to keep going back to. The Movie Snackbar is a bonus, loaded with cineaste favorites, such as different-flavored popcorn, yummy sandwiches and ice-cold beverages.

Don’t miss “The Demon Disorder,” opening exclusively at Ayala Malls Cinemas on April 9. Book your tickets now by visiting www.sureseats.com or any of the participating cinemas.
