Gaming content creator and artist Sophy has signed with NYMA Talent Management, joining singer, actor, host, and model Christian Bautista; James Beard nominee, Forbes Asia 30 under 30 honoree, Webby Awards winner, and food content creator Abi Marquez; APAN Star Award Global Creator of the Year, actress, singer, director, and social media personality Kristel Fulgar; viral TikTok sensation and rising beauty content creator Adelina Eugenio; cyclist, cycling advocate, and social media’s go-to spooky storyteller Buji Babiera; and Hashtag Asia Awards winner and multipurpose artist Raco Ruiz.

Sophy started out as a DOTA fan and started creating gaming content in 2020. Since then, she has tried her hand at presenting, hosting, casting, and creating for gaming and esports organizations, including hosting the 2023 DPC Southeast Asian Winter Tour.

Sophy’s streams cover games like DOTA, Hollow Knight: Silksong, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Resident Evil, Elden Ring, Marvel Rivals, Monster Hunter Wilds, Celeste, Sword of the Sea, Kingdom Hearts, Mass Effect, Genshin Impact, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and Disney Dreamlight Valley, to name a few.

Her streams typically include games of different genres, from open world games, action-adventure and shooter games, multiplayer battle and online games, social simulation, and indie games, giving viewers a taste of what the industry has to offer.

In addition to creating gaming content, Sophy is also an artist. She also engages in painting and crocheting, designing and printing her own sticker sets, and building Lego sets.

With over 220,000 followers, Sophy is cementing herself as a gaming content creator on the rise.

Her signing comes at a crucial time, as a report from Niko Partners shows that there’s much to be excited about in the Southeast Asian gaming market. The SEA gaming market is expected to be home to 332 million gamers and generate around USD7 billion in games revenue by 2028.

Content creators will play an increasingly important role in this growing space in the region, and Sophy hopes to bring her brand of gaming content to a passionate Southeast Asian audience.

NYMA Chief Operating Officer Kat Bautista shared her excitement about the team’s new talent. “The Southeast Asian gaming space is continuing to grow, with mobile games expected to bring in the revenues. It’s the perfect time to bring someone like Sophy into NYMA. She brings a thoughtful and positive energy to the gaming scene, she understands the landscape and the fans, and with her, we can expand NYMA’s work in gaming.”

The excitement is mutual. “I’ve seen the Southeast Asian gaming space grow over the years, and I’m excited to be working with NYMA to see what we can do in the region and beyond it,” shared Sophy. “I’m looking forward to working with creators and esports professionals and seeing how we can make this a space where more Filipina gamers would thrive.”
