GMA Public Affairs dominated digital platforms in 2024, amassing 12.2 billion views—6.74 billion on Facebook, 3.14 billion on TikTok, and 2.38 billion on YouTube.
According to global video measurement and analytics platform Tubular Labs, it was the No. 1 digital video publisher in the Philippines under the news and politics category, based on total views across Facebook and YouTube.
In December, it became Facebook’s most-watched news publisher globally and ranked seventh worldwide in the same category.
This milestone propelled GMA Public Affairs past the 25 million subscriber mark on YouTube, further cementing its status as a digital powerhouse.
A key driver of success was “FYP” (For You Page), launched in August 2024, which amassed over half a billion views in just a few months.
Meanwhile, Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho (KMJS) led with 4.7 billion views, while its “Gabi ng Lagim” special hit 359,000 peak concurrent viewers. Other notable programs contributing to GMA Public Affairs’ viewership included Tadhana, Wish Ko Lang, Unang Hirit, I-Witness, Resibo, Pinas Sarap, and Reporter’s Notebook, along with Makiling, one of the network’s afternoon prime offerings last year.
Classic Public Affairs programs also remained popular, garnering over 60 million views through repurposed episodes.
Fueling GMA Pictures’ Online Growth
2024 also marked a significant milestone for GMA Pictures, with the launch of its official YouTube channel in July. Managed by the GMA Public Affairs Social Media Team, the channel quickly gained traction, earning the YouTube Silver Creator Award and amassing over 310,000 subscribers, 74 million views, and 27.7 million hours of watch time in under a year.
A standout success for GMA Pictures was the MMFF 2024 Best Picture, Green Bones, which racked over 159 million views across social media platforms.
Looking Ahead: More content this 2025
Building on its strong 2024 performance, GMA Public Affairs is set for another year of expanding digital reach and engaging content.
Already, the regional romantic comedy My Ilonggo Girl—which premiered on January 13, 2025—has surpassed 400 million views as of February 3, quickly becoming a trending topic on TikTok and becoming the most-watched show on the GMA Network YouTube Channel.
