On May 2, Hikaru Utada released their latest single “Mine or Yours.” At the same time, a debut performance of the track was featured on the YouTube channel THE FIRST TAKE, which surpassed 2 million views within just two days and reached No. 7 on YouTube Japan’s trending chart.
As of tonight, the official music video for the new single has been released.
Directed by Tomokazu Yamada, who also directed recent singles “Gold -Mata Au Hi Made- ” and “Nanairo Demo Nai Hana (A Flower of No Color),” the video offers a visually-rich, cinematic take on the emotional new single.
Since the start of 2025, Hikaru Utada has kept active by releasing multiple remixes of their 2024 anthem “Electricity.” Fans around the world have enjoyed bold reinterpretations by internationally acclaimed artists Karen Nyame KG, Arca, and salute. Originally included on their best-of album and performed as an encore throughout their 2024 SCIENCE FICTION tour, “Electricity” has become a defining track of their recent creative era.
In April, Utada made their highly anticipated return to the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival – back to the festival after three years. After last year’s shows in Taiwan and Hong Kong, the Coachella appearance further cemented their ongoing global presence.
