InLife, the largest Filipino life insurer, has announced the election of Atty. Victor P. Lazatin as its new Independent Trustee. He will fill the seat vacated by former InLife Independent Trustee, Atty Francisco Ed. Lim, who recently assumed his post as the new Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Atty. Lazatin is a Senior Legal Counsel at Angara Abello Concepcion Regala & Cruz Law Offices (ACCRA), where he specializes in civil and commercial litigation and arbitration.
He is an accredited arbitrator of the Construction Industry Arbitration Commission, the Philippine Dispute Resolution Center, Inc., the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre, the Shanghai International Arbitration Centre, and the Singapore International Arbitration Centre.
“We are honored to welcome Atty. Victor Lazatin to the InLife Board of Trustees. His extensive legal background, integrity, and deep understanding of governance and arbitration bring tremendous value to our organization,” said InLife Executive Chair Nina D. Aguas. “As InLife continues to uphold the highest standards of excellence and stewardship, Atty. Lazatin’s wisdom and experience will help guide our mission to serve Filipinos with compassion and purpose.”
Atty. Lazatin is a member of several professional organizations, including the Inter-Pacific Bar Association, the ASEAN Law Association, the Integrated Bar of the Philippines, the Philippine Bar Association (PBA), and the Philippine Council of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC).
Atty. Lazatin earned both his BA in Economics and his Bachelor of Laws, cum laude, from the University of the Philippines. He ranked third in the 1972 Philippine Bar Examinations. He later obtained a Master of Laws from the University of Michigan as a Clyde A. DeWitt Fellow.
