SN Aboitiz Power-Benguet, Inc. (SNAP-Benguet), together with the Aboitiz Foundation, formally turned over a solar power and connectivity system to Domolpos Community School in Barangay Tinongdan, Itogon, Benguet on December 17, 2025, bringing reliable electricity and digital access to a school that serves 16 students in one of the province’s more remote communities.

The turnover was led by SNAP President and CEO Joseph Yu and Barangay Tinongdan Chairman Edwin Atumpag and attended by Aboitiz Foundation Impact Lead Jowelle Ann R. Cruz, Department of Education Benguet Division Senior Education Program Specialist Arvin R. Doman, school principal Philip Fowaya, parents, and students.

The project provides Domolpos Community School with a 6kWp solar power system, battery storage, and internet connectivity, supporting daily school operations and access to digital learning tools. The installation is part of AuroraPH, a flagship initiative of the Aboitiz Foundation which aims to bring renewable energy, connectivity, and digital education support to last-mile schools in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas.

Beyond the school, 22 solar-powered streetlights were also turned over to the community, improving visibility and safety for students, teachers, and residents. The project was implemented by SNAP-Benguet, with internet hardware and service support from the Aboitiz Foundation. SNAP also conducted a gift-giving activity for the students as part of its corporate social responsibility efforts, with additional donations raised through an employee-led volunteer program.

AuroraPH was piloted in 2024 in 11 schools nationwide, including several in Benguet, and continues to expand across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. Through partnerships with government agencies, local communities, and technology providers, the program seeks to build sustainable, long-term infrastructure that supports quality education and digital inclusion in remote areas.

“By bringing renewable energy and connectivity to schools like Domolpos Elementary School, we create conducive conditions where our students’ creativity and confidence can grow,” said Yu. “We enable teachers to teach more effectively, and we inspire communities to imagine a wider future for their children.”
