Metrobank Foundation Inc. (MBFI) supports the NAKAKALOCAL! G3N Y to Z CultureFest: A Celebration of Local Arts and Music hosted by the PhilSTAR Media Group in collaboration with Robinsons Destination Estate, happening on April 26, 2025, 4PM to 10PM at Bridgetowne Open Grounds, Pasig City. The event is a celebration of Filipino creativity, bringing together music, arts, and culture in one dynamic space.
Now in its third year, NAKAKALOCAL is dedicated to championing local industries—primarily supporting arts and music MSMEs while also providing a platform to celebrate and showcase Filipino talent in the arts and creative sectors.
“Our support for NAKAKALOCAL aligns perfectly with the Metrobank Foundation’s four-decade-long commitment to nurturing Philippine arts, exemplified by our prestigious Metrobank Art & Design Excellence (MADE) Program. We are delighted to support The Philippine STAR in providing a space for artists, art enthusiasts, and the next generation of creatives to showcase their ingenuity, which are all worthy of being recognized,” said MBFI President Aniceto M. Sobrepeña.
MADE recently concluded its nationwide call for entries, receiving a strong response of 670 submissions. This year marked an exciting development with the reintroduction of a mixed media category, adding to the long-standing painting and sculpture categories. Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony in September.
“Just as MADE has nurtured artistic excellence for decades, we see NAKAKALOCAL as another vital space for cultivating a deeper love for the arts. We are optimistic that this increased engagement will inspire more artists to hone their skills, ultimately enriching our nation’s culture,” added Sobrepeña.
NAKAKALOCAL CultureFest will feature a local art exhibit showcasing curated works by Filipino artists. Attendees can also enjoy interactive activity booths, live music, local brews and beverages, and a variety of gourmet street food options.
Apart from upholding Philippine art, MBFI also promotes excellence in public service, empowers the next generation by supporting students and educators, and strategically partners with social development organizations to implement transformative programs addressing critical needs in health, education, livelihood, and disaster risk reduction and management.
