Micah Shi is not your typical CEO. While her business, The Grand Hausse, is a stunning two-story cafe and fashion boutique in Quezon City, she views it as something far more profound than just a commercial enterprise. For Shi, The Grand Hausse is a platform for spiritual awakening, a place where business, art, and healing intersect to create a truly unique experience.

“The Grand Hausse actually means the greatest awakening or the grand rise. When I say the greatest awakening, awakening to what? It’s awakening to your true best self. Your true best self is not the ordinary you because you’re never meant to be ordinary. We’re all powerful in ways you don’t really imagine or expect,” she said.

Shi believes that this space is designed to help people connect with that power, describing her business as “not just a fashion brand or a cafe restaurant… it’s actually a frequency you can tune into.”

This philosophy is deeply embedded in every aspect of the restaurant. The newly opened bar, for instance, isn’t for a typical party scene. Instead, Shi wants her customers to “sip with purpose with intention.” The drinks, like the Awakening Cocktails and Golden Abundance Mocktails, are crafted with ingredients that possess specific healing properties.

As Shi explains, the restaurant uses ingredients or concoctions with healing properties or a certain frequency to help guests align with a certain vibration. This unique approach comes from her personal background as an energy healer; she sees the cafe as a physical extension of her healing work, a high-frequency space that uplifts anyone who enters. She even mentions a Manifesto Night, where guests can pick a card that offers a message from the universe.

The culinary offerings follow a similar path. The Grand Hausse is known for its designer pastas, which Shi proudly states are a first in the Philippines. These are not just visually appealing dishes, but are also made with a purpose. She says the food is made with superfoods, and they don’t use food coloring or any processed food. For Shi, the food is an act of nourishment on a deeper level.

“I’m not just dressing you up, I’m not just feeding your tummy. I’m also feeding your spirit yourself. That’s why some people say, ‘Oh, why are we so happy here?’ Bakit parang like some kind of high vibe here? You know, being high is not bad. It’s actually your birthright to be in that state of joy,” Shi said.

Shi’s entrepreneurial journey is a testament to her belief in divine purpose. She recounts how the business started with a misdelivered mannequin intended for a furniture shop she was planning, a strange twist of fate that led her to a profound realization: “Your deepest passions are actually intimately connected to your higher purpose.”
