The Philippine Society of Hypertension (PSH), in collaboration with Omron Healthcare together with fellow health advocates, have joined forces to combat hypertension with the launch of May Measure Month 2025, a campaign that focuses on increasing awareness, encouraging early detection of high blood pressure, and promoting proactive health management.

Ongoing from until July 31, 2025, the campaign aims to make regular blood pressure monitoring a priority for individuals across the country, considering that hypertension remaining one of the leading causes of preventable deaths worldwide.

Hypertension often goes unnoticed until it leads to serious complications such as heart disease and stroke. Through May Measure Month 2025—led by the Philippine Society of Hypertension alongside the Department of Health (DOH), medical institutions, and community organizations—volunteers, healthcare professionals, and partner organizations — will conduct free nationwide blood pressure screenings using clinically validated digital monitors from Omron Healthcare.

The campaign strives to identify individuals at risk, connect them with appropriate healthcare interventions, and emphasize the need for regular blood pressure monitoring as a key preventive measure. It also serves as an opportunity to encourage healthier lifestyles that reduce the risk of hypertension-related complications. Additionally, data gathered from the campaign will be utilized to monitor hypertension trends, help formulate healthcare strategies, and support research.

“Hypertension is a silent but serious health risk, often going unnoticed until it leads to life-threatening complications. May Measure Month is a crucial initiative reminding us that early detection is our strongest defense. By working with healthcare professionals, volunteers, and partners like Omron Healthcare, we aim to increase vigilance and ensure more people monitor their blood pressure before problems arise. Every blood pressure check is a step toward a healthier future, and together, we can save lives.” said Philippine Society of Hypertension Dr. Alejandro Bimbo F. Diaz.

As part of May Measure Month 2025, the event brought together health advocates, volunteers, and media representatives to promote blood pressure awareness. Hosted in partnership with PSH and Omron Healthcare, the event reinforced the importance of regular blood pressure checks and proactive health management. Participants engaged in free screenings, expert-led discussions, and interactive health activities focused on cardiovascular wellness. The event’s success further highlights the importance of continued efforts throughout May Measure Month 2025, ensuring more individuals regularly undergo the #BigSqueeze and check their blood pressure and take control of their health.

“Omron Healthcare is proud to be a part of May Measure Month 2025, working alongside the Philippine Society of Hypertension to expand blood pressure monitoring and advance early detection efforts. Guided by our vision of ‘Going for Zero’—zero heart attacks and strokes—we are committed to providing innovative, clinically validated solutions that empower individuals to take control of their heart health.” Benjamin Agbulos, General Manager, OMRON Healthcare Philippines.

Through screenings and strategic community engagement, the campaign empowers individuals to take charge of their health and reduce hypertension-related risks. Every blood pressure check moves us toward a healthier future.
