The Philippine Postal Corporation continues to expand its service coverage with the inauguration of the Obando Postal Station in Obando, Bulacan. The new postal branch ensures that local residents no longer have to travel to Valenzuela postal station, or other postal stations in nearby cities, for their postal needs.
The three-story postal station, which also houses Obando’s tourism information center, is situated at People’s Park in front of Obando Church. It was established through a partnership between the Obando Municipality and PHLPost.
On hand to formally open the Post Office were PHLPost Postmaster General and CEO Luis D. Carlos, Obando Mayor Leonardo D. Valeda, Obando municipality councilors and officials and PHLPost officials.
“The opening of the new Obando Post Office is not just a milestone for our town, but a symbol of the continuous progress in our services,” Postmaster General Luis Carlos said.
He added, “Our post office is known for the concept of mail and delivery. With every letter you send and every parcel or package you deliver, we continuously strengthen the connection between people across the country and even in different parts of the world.”
PMG Carlos underscored the benefits of choosing PHLPost for mailing services, emphasizing its membership in the Universal Postal Union (UPU). This affiliation connects PHLPost with 192 other member countries around the globe, ensuring reliable and extensive postal service reach.
“As part of the second oldest postal union in the world, we continue to strengthen and improve our postal services to meet the needs of our fellow citizens, not only within the country but also in international mail and logistics,” PMG Carlos said.
Carlos also highlighted the innovations PHLPost has introduced to enhance the operations and delivery of the country’s postal system. These include the planned nationwide establishment of Barangay Postal Stations, the implementation of the new seven-digit alphanumeric Zip Code PH to standardize the country’s addressing system, and the opening of next-day delivery hubs designed to support and promote the growth of more SMEs.
Obando Mayor Leonardo Valeda emphasized the significance of the new postal station for their municipality, highlighting its importance in providing essential access and services to the citizens of Obando. “The inauguration of the postal station marks the continuing services of PHLPost in the town of Obando. We deeply appreciate the trust PHLPost have placed in us, and we assure you that we will continue to strive for excellence in providing the best possible service and assistance,” Mayor Valeda said.
Since the closure of the old postal station eight years ago, Obando residents have had to travel to nearby cities, such as Valenzuela, to meet their mailing needs. The new postal station is a much-welcomed development in the municipality, which, under Mayor Valeda’s term, has been implementing a series of improvements in the town.
At the newly opened postal station, the public can efficiently and conveniently mail letters and express packages, purchase stamps and other philatelic products, apply for a Postal ID, send Express mail, postal cards, and much more.
