This season, PUMA’s new Speedcat Ballerina leaped into the spotlight at Copenhagen Fashion Week.

The new hybrid silhouette blends the Mary Jane archetype with the streamlined Speedcat.

Graceful yet fuelled by the world of motorsports, the Speedcat Ballerina is characterized by its open forefoot featuring an elastic strap closure, and sleek silhouette that evokes the look of a ballet flat. Blending the seemingly contrasting pursuits of ballet and racing, the silhouette has already been previewed in a number of color schemes, including two-tone black and pink options, as well as a statement silver colorway that echoes the metallic body of an F1 race car. With this latest release, PUMA writes a new chapter for the Mary Jane, a style hallmark of the vibrant 1920s and the era’s rebellious flappers. Now, the Mary Jane’s design DNA is interlaced with one of PUMA’s most iconic footwear designs.

The Speedcat was originally introduced in 1999 as a fireproof design for F1 racing drivers. The shoe’s low-profile feel on the gas pedal made it a favorite of drivers who were seeking an extra competitive edge.

The PUMA Speedcat Ballerina in Silver, Pink, and Black and Pink will be available starting April 10, 2025, at PHP 5,200 on PUMA.com and in select PUMA stores, including PUMA Bonifacio High Street, PUMA Shangri-La Plaza, PUMA SM North EDSA, as well as Foot Locker, Commonwealth, and Atmos. Meanwhile, the PUMA Speedcat Ballerina in White and Black will be available exclusively at Foot Locker Glorietta and Greenhills.
