SAFC, one of the leading non-bank financial institutions in the country, partnered with Tahanang Walang Hagdanan, Inc. (TWHi) to roll out its new community development program, “Brighter Communities: Financial Literacy for All,” as part of its 22nd anniversary celebration with the theme “Brighter Tomorrow, Together”.

Tahanang Walang Hagdanan, Inc. is a non-profit organization that supports people with mobility challenges in achieving independence and renewed sense of purpose through livelihood and training initiatives.

The day-long event featured a financial literacy seminar, donation turnover, gift giving, and community interaction and tour among TWHi members and SAFC volunteers.

The event was attended by SAFC volunteers and members of the TWHi community for a day of learning and sharing. The program featured discussions on financial literacy, including topics such as discerning the proper usage of debt and effectively averting online scams.

For the first seminar of the program, Jestoni Roby Franco, SAFC Business Development Head, taught the community members how to use debt strategically to help them in their financing goals.

or the second seminar of the program, seasoned finance professional and influencer Gerard Andrei Deinla, popularly known as ThePaymentsGuy, served as a resource speaker and shared practical insights on managing money safely in the digital age.

In her opening message, Ms. Angelica Evangelista executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of TWHi, expressed appreciation for SAFC’s initiative. “I always say it to our community members that they need to prepare for the future. That’s why here in our community, our mission has always been to create opportunities for independence and inclusion. Thank you SAFC sa oportunidad kasi ang pagtatabi ng pera napakahalaga talaga lalo na para sa atin na nagsusumikap na kumita sa marangal na paraan.”

Arthur Poria, SAFC HR and Talent Development Group Head, shared that working with TWHi gave deeper meaning to the company’s anniversary milestone. “Our goal this year is to promote progress that includes everyone. Tahanang Walang Hagdanan showed us what true empowerment looks like – rooted in independence, dignity, and community,” he said.

Robel de Jesus, SAFC Strategic Communications Head, shared how partnering with Tahanang Walang Hagdanan has given him a meaningful realization. “At first, we thought we were the ones helping, but the truth is, they’ve helped us more than we could ever give back. Their courage and perseverance remind us to be grateful, purposeful, and content in what we do every day. This experience redefines what community development truly means – it’s not only about extending help, but also about being transformed in the process. Their story embodies our commitment to building a ‘Brighter Tomorrow, Together,’ and we hope more organizations will be inspired to walk this path of shared growth and empowerment.”

This year’s SAFC anniversary theme, “Brighter Tomorrow Together,” underscores the company’s goal of promoting inclusive growth through accessible financial solutions.
