AirAsia Philippines grows its Cebu network, aiming to be a strategic international gateway with the launch of a new direct route to Bangkok. This development further expands the connectivity from Central Visayas to key destinations across ASEAN and beyond.

Starting June 11, 2026, the World’s Best Low-Cost Airline will connect the Queen City of the South to the Thai capital with daily flights (7x weekly) departing Cebu at 4:05 AM and arriving in Bangkok at 7:05 AM, allowing travelers to maximize their time by flying directly from Cebu.

Bangkok (Don Mueang) is one of the mega hubs of the AirAsia Aviation Group, enabling guests traveling from Cebu to seamlessly connect to a wide network of onward destinations across Thailand’s domestic 42 routes with 25 destinations and 60 international destinations across Asia.

Meanwhile, the new route also strengthens inbound travel to the country’s most visited region by foreign tourists. A recent review by the Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS) reported that Central Visayas welcomed 31.5 million international visitors between 2000 and 2024. Cebu offers vibrant city life, rich historical heritage, world-class diving destinations, and stunning islands and waterfalls, making it a must-visit gateway in the country.

Since the launch of its Cebu hub in November 2025, AirAsia Philippines has connected Cebu to Macao, Kuala Lumpur, Caticlan, and Davao, reinforcing the airline’s commitment to expanding Visayas connectivity.

Expanding Manila Network

In addition to growing its Cebu hub, AirAsia Philippines is expanding its Manila international network with additional flight frequencies to meet rising travel demand.

  • From March 30, flights between Manila and Taipei will increase with five additional weekly services.

  • From April 3, flights between Manila and Kaohsiung will see four additional weekly services.

  • From April 4, three more weekly flights will be added to the Manila–Macao route.
