Security Bank Foundation, Inc. (SBFI) won two Silver Anvil Awards under the Public Relations PR Programs category, honoring initiatives that go beyond structures and statistics to make a real difference in children’s lives. Security Bank Corporation (PSE:SECB) emerged as one of the top winners at the 61st Anvil Awards: Gabi ng Parangal, presented by the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP), earning the Platinum Anvil—the highest award for PR Tools, given to the top-rated entry among all Gold Anvil winners.

The recognition was conferred on the Bank’s 2024 Integrated Report, “At the heart of everything we do, is you,” which stood out among 622 entries from 178 companies nationwide, underscoring the scale and competitiveness of the country’s premier public relations recognition program.

Judges cited the report for its clarity, transparency, and ability to translate complex corporate information into a clear, credible, and engaging narrative—strengthening stakeholder understanding while demonstrating strong strategic thinking and measurable communication effectiveness.

“This report was never just about publishing numbers. It was about telling the story of how we serve people and create value—grounded in stronger sustainability reporting and regulatory alignment. It reflects our commitment to BetterBanking: working to make things easier and clearer for customers, delivering sustainable growth and strong governance for investors, fostering a culture of purpose for our people, and creating positive impact in the communities we serve,” said Tanya Ansaldo-Deakin, FVP and Corporate Communications Head, Security Bank.

Security Bank Foundation earns national recognition for impact-driven programs

Security Bank Foundation, Inc. (SBFI), the Bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility arm, also earned two Silver Anvil Awards under the Public Relations Programs category, recognizing initiatives that deliver tangible, measurable outcomes for communities.

One award honored “Built to Last, Delivered in Record Time: Security Bank Foundation Classrooms,” a program that constructs disaster-resilient public school classrooms five times faster and 20% more cost-efficient than public standards. Its innovations are now being considered in national school building policies and proposed legislation aimed at accelerating classroom construction.

The second recognized “SBF Eyes (Seeing Better Future through Eyes),” a partnerships initiative that provided vision screening and free prescription eyeglasses to 1,170 students across Laguna, Batangas, and Bulacan. The program contributed to improved reading outcomes in participating schools, including a 328% increase in independent readers.

“These awards remind us that development is not just about buildings or numbers—it is about children finally being able to read, learn, and dream,” said Rafael Simpao, Jr., Chairman, Security Bank Foundation. “When we listen closely to communities and work together with partners who share the same heart, real change happens.”

The Anvil Awards, now in their 61st year, are widely regarded as the most prestigious honors in Philippine public relations. Winners are selected through a rigorous, multi-level judging process and independently audited to ensure fairness and integrity.
