Kaspersky Lab Reports Philippines Among Top Spammers To U.S. and Europe

Kaspersky Lab, a leading developer of secure content and threat management solutions, recently released its June spam report which showed that a quarter of the spam distributed on United States territory is of Asian origin. Incidentally, the Philippines is one of the top sources of spam that hit U.S. and Europe during a number of significant events in June.

In the said report, the Philippines ranked 7th out of 20 countries with a share of 2.8% in spam distributed to the US. Incidentally, it is the U.S. that was the main source of distributed spam, ranking 1st with a share of 39.2%. It is followed by China with 9.1%, Brazil with 6.6% and India with 3.7%.

According to Kaspersky Lab’s official blog Securelist.com, spam is the name commonly given to unsolicited e-mail. It is effectively an unwanted advertising, an e-mail equivalent of physical junk mail delivered through the post or from unsolicited telemarketing calls.
