Folk-pop artist Angela Ken collaborated with “Pinoy Big Brother Kumunity Season 10” celebrity housemates Anji Salvacion and Eian Rances for the music video of her new single “It’s Okay Not To Be Okay,” a song that genuinely speaks of comfort and assurance.

Composed by Angela and ABS-CBN Music creative director Jonathan Manalo, “It’s Okay Not To Be Okay” was born from the trending Bb. Pilipinas 2021 question of Boy Abunda to one of the pageant’s candidates, “when is it okay not to be okay and when is it not okay to be okay?”

The question circulated and drew discussions online that encouraged the King of Talk to produce the inspiring collaboration with Star Music.

“It’s a song for those people na akala nila it’s not okay being not okay,” Angela explained. “It’s a reminder that you are allowed to cry, you are allowed to feel bad, and you are allowed to break down. You can be in the hardest and darkest times but acknowledging it doesn’t mean that you are giving up.”

She also shared her fun experience working with Anji and Eian for the music video. She said, “I got to work with one of my best friends in the industry, Anji, and met Eian for the first time in person. Ang chill lang ng shoot namin at everyone was having fun as well, kaya masaya po ako.”

Before “It’s Okay Not To Be Okay,” Angela released the massive hit “Ako Naman Muna,” her debut single encouraging self-love that to date has almost 28 million plays on Spotify alone.

The Kapamilya artist is also part of The Squad Plus and will be having her acting debut in the upcoming digital series “Lyric and Beat.”

Directed by Miko Pelino, “It’s Okay Not To Be Okay” music video is now up on ABS-CBN Star Music YouTube channel while the song is available for streaming in various music platforms.
