In preparation for younger generations to respond to the snacking industry’s future challenges, Mondelēz International presents Taste The Future Business Challenge, a virtual business competition at the Southeast Asia level that promotes Design Thinking principles. The competition takes place from the end of March to June 2022 and is open to all undergraduate and post-graduate students with the best qualifications in the Southeast Asia region.
Aileen Aumentado as Mondelēz International People Lead in the Philippines explains, “Mondelēz International will always adapt to trends and evolving consumer needs. And consumers increasingly expect more from their favorite Mondelēz International brands such as OREO cookies, Cadbury Dairy Milk chocolate, Eden cheese, Tang powdered beverage, Halls candy, and Toblerone chocolates. Understanding the trends through this competition, participants can hone their creative and consumer mindset by empathizing and walking in the users’ shoes through the Design Thinking process,” said Aumentado.
Mondelēz International’s Taste The Future Business Challenge is a Southeast Asia-wide virtual competition. Students across these countries can learn a “hot skill of the future” – Design Thinking – and creatively apply it to solve a ‘live’ business challenge. Each team will work on a design challenge: “How might Mondelēz International lead the future of snacking in Southeast Asia?”. Teams will be invited to an exclusive design thinking learning lab, equipping them with problem-solving skills and focused on consumer needs.
The competition has two local stages, with elimination at each stage and successful teams will be invited to present their prototypes in a Country-level Showdown. Country Champions will represent their respective countries in the Southeast Asia Showdown with Mondelēz International Southeast Asia Leadership Team. “The winning team will have the opportunity to earn amazing gadgets, cash rewards, a signature trophy and a fast-tracked entry into our Management Trainee and Internship programs. We believe diversity fosters innovation. We encourage diversity in the participating teams, from university backgrounds, courses, gender, age and thought,” adds Aumentado.
