GCash, the mobile wallet app run by financial technology company Mynt, recently kicked off its Jumpstart Internship Program, an on-the-job learning program for undergraduate students that will run from June-August 2022.
Out of hundreds of applicants from all over the Philippines, 36 students were chosen to be part of the pioneer batch. The 10-week internship program aims to provide a unique opportunity for students to learn about the financial technology (fintech) industry, gain relevant work experience, and be trained by the best GCash managers.
Through the Jumpstart Internship program, young talents will be exposed to the people, culture, and values of G Nation. Through its program, G Nation for the Nation, GCash provides employees a collaborative work culture and increased opportunities to advance their careers in the company. Interns will have the opportunity to learn about the workplace culture and values of GCash through G Nation sessions and leadership talks.
“As G Nation, we help make Filipinos’ lives better by providing digital finance solutions that empower people. Through this internship program, we’re excited to expand our G Nation by training and guiding new talents who have both the skills and the heart to promote a more financially inclusive Philippines,” said GCash Chief People Officer Robert Conrad Gonzales.
The interns will undergo a series of experiential learning activities that will prepare them to work comfortably in the agile and dynamic fintech industry. As interns, they will be given responsibilities such as communication with cross-functional teams, creation of systems and processes, and presentation of data-informed recommendations.
During the GCash Jumpstart kick-off event, the keynote speaker, FUSE Lending Inc. Chief Executive Officer Tony Isidro, gave tips on how interns can make the most of their experience at GCash. “Here, you will learn not just about e-wallets, payments, lending, and savings. Enjoy the trek up, and through it all, know that you’re making a positive impact in making finance a reality for more Filipinos,” said Isidro.
The Jumpstart Internship Program is part of the G Nation program that aims to nurture young talents by fostering a progressive and inclusive workplace culture while contributing to financial inclusion in the Philippines. Be part of the G Nation, For the Nation!
