Madiskarte Moms PH (MMPH), an online community for aspiring and experienced mother entrepreneurs or mompreneurs, won a Silver Stevie Award for Innovation in Community Relations or Public Service Relations at the 2022 Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards.
The awarding body recognized MMPH’s role as a safe space and go-to resource for moms who want to start or grow their own online home businesses. Started in the thick of the pandemic lockdowns, Madiskarte Moms PH was created by PLDT Home and a group of mompreneurs. Madiskarte is a beautiful Filipino term used to describe someone who is both creative and resourceful.
The Stevie Awards is widely considered to be the world’s premier business awards group, conferring recognition for achievements in the workplace over the past 20 years. Judges of this year’s Stevie Awards recognized organizations in 22 markets across multiple categories and considered more than 900 nominations from the 29-nation Asia Pacific region, including entries from Australia, Belarus, Cambodia, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, and the Philippines. The virtual awards ceremony will be held on June 29.
“When we launched Madiskarte Moms PH (MMPH) in September 2020, we had one goal in mind: to empower moms to succeed in their entrepreneurial journey and to help them fulfill their dreams for their families. After just 20 months, we are honored that Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards recognized the efforts and wins of our Madiskarte Moms. This award strengthens PLDT Home Biz’s commitment to provide the resources, technology, skills training, and network to help them succeed and thrive,” said Patrick Tang, First Vice President and Head of PLDT Home Customer Management.
“The submissions in the ninth edition of the Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards were outstanding this year,” said Stevie Awards President, Maggie Miller. “The judges remarked that the innovation and perseverance demonstrated in the nominations was inspiring. We applaud all the Stevie Award winners this year and look forward to celebrating them on June 29.”
A community of mompreneurs by mompreneurs
With more than 105,000 members, MMPH continues to provide a safe and supportive environment so that mompreneurs can unleash their entrepreneurial potentials. The community conducts regular webinars and masterclasses and serves as a venue for networking among industry experts, other sellers, and potential buyers.
Madiskarte Mom Lou NeriaPutian –who runs skincare brand SY Glow– not only grew her business with the help of the MMPH community, but she also helped other Filipino moms nationwide start their own businesses by becoming distributors for her brand.
The same is true for Rosanna Dela Cruz Kabiling. Mompreneur Rosanna started small with her Something Nice Environment Corp., a proper waste disposal and management company, but by attending MMPH seminars and getting tips and support from the community members, she was able to grow her company, provide employment for communities across Laguna, and most of all, contributed to environmental protection and conservation.
Meanwhile, Madiskarte Mom Theresa Carbonel-Buenaflor came to the MMPH community for support after her beauty business, Ellana Cosmetics, struggled during the pandemic. Theresa was not only able to pivot and learn more about marketing her products online — the community lifted her spirits and gave her the motivation to keep her business running. “I joined [Madiskarte Moms PH] at a time when I was feeling the stress of doing business in a pandemic. MMPH allowed me to share my story–-which was therapeutic–-and I found a supportive community that inspired me to continue my journey as a mompreneur,” Theresa said.
