Bureau of Treasury (BTr) and GCash published its Financial Literacy modules on the Fili Web App

GCash, the Philippines’ leading mobile wallet, has partnered with the Bureau of Treasury (BTr) to provide the content for Financial Literacy modules published on the Fili Web App, a financial planning application developed by the bureau.

“At GCash, our main purpose and focus are to improve the lives of millions of Filipinos and we believe that financial literacy is key to making this goal a reality. We are proud to partner with the Bureau of Treasury as we share the same mission of educating Filipinos on how to achieve financial security,” GCash president and CEO Martha Sazon said.

This initiative is part of the GCash FinLit campaign that aims to promote financial literacy and inclusion by educating Filipinos about risk tolerance, cash flow, budgeting, portfolio simulation, and general investment principles. The FinLit content by GCash is posted on the ‘Education Tab’ in the web app which Filipinos can access for free at https://filiapp.treasury.gov.ph.

“We strongly support the Bureau of Treasury’s financial literacy initiative as it is essential in achieving our collective mission of helping Filipinos attain financial freedom. We will help equip them with the right knowledge on how to make better financial decisions that will improve their way of life,” GCash head of wealth management Jong Layug said.

In line with its financial inclusion and literacy campaign, GCash has also been partnering with other public sector entities to promote digital payment adoption among local government employees, market vendors, and Tricycle Operators and Drivers’ Associations (TODA).

GCash has also been helping local government units (LGU) across the Philippines build a digital ecosystem that promotes safe, seamless, and accessible digital financial tools for all.

More than just helping Filipinos unlock their financial goals, GCash also empowers current and potential GCash employees with its “GNation for the Nation” program which aims to provide talents in the fintech industry increased opportunities and skills to advance their careers as they contribute to GCash’s objective of nation-building.
