Venture back into the seedy underbelly of London’s criminal world when Gangs of London returns to Lionsgate Play for its second season. After the violent events of Season 1, the map and soul of London have been redrawn, with surviving gangs scattered and new brutal leaders in power. The ruthless Koba (Waleed Zuaiter) and his paramilitary enforcers now hold a complete monopoly over London’s drug trade, but opposition is brewing as hidden agendas and surprising alliances come to light. As old foes are forced to work together and family members betray each other, new players emerge, leading to a battle for London’s soul. Starring Sope Dìrísù, Michelle Fairley, and Brian Vernel, Gangs of London Season 1 and 2 promises to be an unforgettable ride. Stream it exclusively in the Philippines on Lionsgate Play from July 28
Talking about how Season 2 builds up on the previous season, Executive Producer Thomas Benski said, “London is a bigger character, even more so than in the first one. The family drama is very dark, on another level, the action is bigger and the scale of it is bigger. If you have a successful S1, automatically the scale will come with you and there’s confidence in certain components of it, whereas, for the first one, you have no idea if it’s going to work. For S2 we knew certain things would work and therefore we could push those elements forward. For instance, Sope’s incredible abilities, Joe’s incredible charisma, and the full cast like Michelle, Lucian. All of those were things that we were confident about. We were trying to build a framework that really enhanced that.”
