Honorees of the AWEN Award, like Laus-Velasco, are renowned as visionary leaders, and trailblazers in the industry who have broken down barriers to progress for women in the workplace.
“It is certainly a great privilege to be surrounded by such talented women who are not just my contemporaries, but also leaders in our respective fields.” Laus-Velasco continued, “This award is a testament to the sheer dedication, resilience, and resolve required to succeed as a woman in any industry we choose.”
Laus-Velasco was recognized for her exemplary leadership that has brought the LausGroup of Companies to new heights, as well as her strong advocacy for inclusive education and continuing her father, Levy P. Laus’s mission to support countryside development.
“As chairman and CEO of the LausGroup of Companies, we will continue to aim towards achieving customer excellence and accelerating growth in the countryside. I am confident that we are laying the foundation for successful women entrepreneurs for generations to come,” shared Laus-Velasco.
Leading the vision of the LausGroup of Companies, Laus-Velasco helps to propel not just the automotive industry in Northern and Central Luzon but also the various fields of tourism, hospitality, media, and non-life insurance for the benefit of Filipinos.
The AWEN Award is an annual ceremony presented by the ASEAN Women Entrepreneurs’ Network, a network of businesswomen dedicated to elevating and empowering women in the ASEAN region. AWEN provides a forum for women to share their expertise and experience, network, and advocate for initiatives that support women-led businesses in the region.
