The AIA Group, Asia’s leading insurance company, in cooperation with its Philippines-based business unit, AIA Philippines (formerly AIA Philam Life), and UK-based English Premier League professional football club Tottenham Hotspur, are teaming up to support the ICanServe Foundation through a charity match with Luton Town on 30 March 2024.
ICanServe is an advocacy group of breast cancer survivors and volunteers in the Philippines. They were selected by AIA Philippines to be the beneficiary of the football match.
Signed team shirts of Tottenham Hotspur worn by the players during the match will feature a special match emblem symbolizing the cause being championed and will be auctioned off to raise funds for the various initiatives of ICanServe.
Melissa Henson, Chief Marketing Officer of AIA Philippines who also oversees its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) efforts, shared: “As a company driven by our Purpose of helping people live Healthier, Longer, Better Lives, we at AIA believe women’s health deserves special attention, hence our partnership with ICanServe Foundation. By supporting this charity match, we hope to raise awareness, inspire action, and contribute to the fight against breast cancer. As the match is happening in March, this initiative is especially significant as it coincides with the celebration of International Women’s Month.”
“We’re proud to partner with the AIA Group and AIA Philippines to support the ICanServe Foundation,” Donna-Maria Cullen, Executive Director, Tottenham Hotspur and Trustee of the Club’s Foundation, said. “Through our efforts, we hope to inspire more teams and people to contribute to the valiant fight against breast cancer.”
AIA Philippines has a long-standing partnership with ICanServe Foundation, who co-creates breast cancer control programs with local governments that include promotion of early breast cancer detection, access to accurate diagnosis and timely treatment, all the way to hospice care and patient navigation.
The charity match can be viewed on 30 March 2024 at 11PM Philippine time.
