Over the past years, the Philippine World Food Expo, or WOFEX has been a must-see trade show for food and beverages manufacturers, enthusiasts, and professionals. It has been an avenue for new products from all over the world to showcase their unique appeal and creative outputs paving new trends and cravings among its followers. This WOFEX 2024 with its theme “Evolve, Innovate, and Grow!”, the world welcomes innovative and sustainably prepared products and practices for the F&B industry.
Taiwan Award-Winning Foods Pavilion, Taiwan External Trade Development Council’s (TAITRA) newest project to further boost the presence of Taiwanese products in the market, has officially opened its doors in the Philippines as WOFEX 2024 officially starts today, July 31 to August 3 at the SMX Convention Center Manila and World Trade Center, both in Pasay City.
Ushering the opening of the Taiwan Award-Winning Foods Pavilion is Mr. Dustin Yang, Taiwan Economic & Cultural Office in the Philippines [TECO], Mr. Alex Lai, Director of Taiwan Trade Center (TAIRA) Manila, and Ms. Jamie Lee, Manager of TAITRA.
In his opening remarks, Mr. Yang shared: “Taiwan’s food industry has accumulated profound technical expertise and knowledgeable management. It has a high-quality workforce, specialized work processes within the supply chain, and smooth cooperation between SMEs (small and medium enterprises) and large enterprises. Customized manufacturing is common for both small-scale diversification and for mass production of a single product, which shows that we are very competitive and willing to collaborate with you.”
Taiwan Award-Winning Foods Pavilion encourages Taiwan’s food and beverage companies to get awards whether in Taiwan or abroad to avail the free opportunity of promoting their goods to foreign buyers to increase sourcing opportunities. These “Made in Taiwan” products are not only certified and awarded domestically and internationally but have also been recognized by Monde Selection, ITQI, Halal certification, organic certification, additive-free labels, and A.A. Taste Awards. Among the 150 products from 71 renowned Taiwanese companies, all SMEs, are Boba Tea, Fenglisu or Pineapple cake, Tai Yang Bing or Sun cake, and Vegan Jerky.
“TAITRA has highlighted the Taiwanese architecture and sky lanterns as the hallmark of this pavilion, integrating rich Taiwanese cultural elements to provide visitors with an immersive experience. Like music, which is a universal language, food is the same. It has a universal appeal, transcending boundaries and cultural barriers, developing bonds across humanity, forging friendship, better understanding and cooperation,” said Mr. Lai.
Taiwan Award-Winning Foods Pavilion opens with a media-tasting event featuring Filipino influencer Chef RV Manabat. The Taiwan Award-Winning Foods Pavilion also hosts activities such as snap and share, roulette games, and Q and A sections that are made to share joy with its guests providing firsthand opportunities to get authentic Taiwanese food and flavors.
The Taiwan Award-Winning Foods Pavilion 2024 is located at Booth 1147 on the first level of SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City.
