Clarissa “Cariss” Ramos, who secured first place in the female category (age 55-59) at the Spartan Race Vietnam 2024 on July 13. Atty. Cariss, a valued and widely esteemed attorney at EastWest Bank, carried the country’s colors and showcased her extraordinary dedication, resilience, and commitment to fitness and sports.
Balancing Career and Passion
“I’ve been participating in Spartan races since 2019. My motivation is to show that these races are for everyone, regardless of gender and age. I want to encourage everyone that it is never too late to engage in these activities. My mantra is #NoExcuses,” shared Atty. Cariss.
In her role at EastWest Bank, Atty. Cariss serves as the head of the Corporate and Custodianship Department, handling corporate housekeeping, documentation, and legal advisory services for the Bank’s subsidiaries. Her ability to balance a demanding career with her passion for fitness is truly commendable and aspirational. “To achieve anything, you can’t just wish for it; you have to work hard and make time for it,” she emphasized.
Reflecting on her Spartan Race experience, Atty. Cariss shared, “One of the most memorable moments from the race was raising the Philippine flag while standing on the podium. The support from the Filipino community made it feel like home away from home.” Her dedication to fitness not only allows her to stay fit but also to enjoy playing with her grandchildren without getting tired.
