No Gain No Love, starring Shin Mina, Kim Young-dae, Lee Sang-yi, and Han Ji-hyeon, has been captivating viewers around the world with its sweet rom-com story. That’s no surprise, since the relationships in the series are romantic, comedic, and also tug at our heartstrings. Let’s check out some of our favorite relationships that make us fall in love ourselves, ahead of the series finale!
Son Hae-yeong & Kim Ji-uk
Who would have thought romance could bloom from an antagonistic relationship between convenience store employee Kim Ji-uk (Kim Young-dae) and demanding customer Son Hae-yeong (Shin Mina)? Hae-yeong has lived a calculative life, concerned about losing out as she has in the past. Meanwhile, Ji-uk is afraid of inconveniencing others due to circumstances surrounding his birth. Despite these obstacles, the pair can’t deny their attraction to each other. Also, we can’t help but swoon during special scenes like their convenience store proposal and whenever they’re close to kissing. We’re rooting for a happy ending for this pair!
Bok Gyu-hyun & Nam Ja-yeon
After discovering his mother’s affinity for Nam Ja-yeon (Han Ji-hyeon)’s R-rated web novels, Bok Gyu-hyun (Lee Sang-yi) resorts to writing negative comments on the web novels. Ja-yeon finds it difficult to forgive him at first, but the pair get closer to each other as they tackle this. Their relationship is all the more heart-fluttering due to Ja-yeon’s lack of actual experience in the romance department. Thankfully, we’ll be able to see more of their romance and chemistry through the spin-off series Spice Up Our Love which will be available through Prime Video on October 3. You can look forward to seeing a spicier romance between them as they become characters in Ja-yeon’s steamy web novel.
Bok Gyu-hyun & Kim Ji-uk
Ji-uk and Gyu-hyun first meet while volunteering at an orphanage. Gyu-hyun begins to call Ji-uk by the nickname Lucifer following this encounter. As they get to know each other, they realize the other is not as bad as they might have initially thought. Later, there’s cute moments where they tease each other and when they help each other out. Things do get tense once they find out more about Ji-uk’s birth secret though. Fortunately, their bromance grows and the brothers even share some similarities such as the way they sleep. Here’s to hoping the brothers can continue having a closer relationship as the series ends.
Bok Gyu-hyun & Yeo Ha-jun
Gyu-hyun’s relationship with his secretary Yeo Ha-jun (Lee You-jin) is reminiscent of the classic cartoon characters Tom and Jerry. They’re constantly bickering, but actually care about each other. Ha-jun wants very badly to become a developer, but Gyu-hyun doesn’t want to lose him as his secretary. While Ha-jun keeps plotting his escape, Gyu-hyun doesn’t let go of him and relies on him like a friend. More layers are added to their relationship as Gyu-hyun develops feelings for Ja-yeon due to Ja-yeon having a crush on Ha-jun since their high school years. As we keep watching until the end, we definitely hope to see more cute moments between these two.
Son Hae-yeong, Nam Ja-yeon & Cha Hui-seong
Hae-yeong, Ja-yeon, and Hui-seong (Ju Min-gyung) have a family-like relationship. Ja-yeon and Hui-seong were both foster daughters of Hae-yeong’s mother, at different times. They say blood is thicker than water, but these three have a relationship that is thicker than blood. While they might have different opinions on fake weddings and polyamorous relationships, they always support one another in the end. Whether there are celebrations or heartaches, the three sisters are consistently there for each other. Romances might come and go in life, but their ties are unbreakable. Seeing their lovely family-like friendship makes us want the same for ourselves.
There’s so many relationships and characters we just can’t help but love. Don’t miss out on watching the final episodes of No Gain No Love to see what will happen for each character!
