Answering the urgent call for blood donors, SAFC once again demonstrated its commitment to saving lives through its latest bloodletting drive, held last February 28, 2025, at its head office. In partnership with the Philippine Red Cross and the Pasig City LGU, the initiative successfully gathered much-needed blood donations, directly benefiting 164 patients.
This initiative comes at a critical time as the Philippine Red Cross continues to appeal for blood donations amid a nationwide surge in dengue cases. According to the Department of Health (DOH), dengue cases have risen by 56% from January 1 to February 15, with 43,732 reported cases compared to 27,995 during the same period last year. With hospitals experiencing an increasing demand for blood, corporate and community-driven initiatives play a vital role in maintaining a stable supply for patients in need.
“Blood donation is a simple yet profound act of generosity,” said Dr. Edmundo Marra, Senior Medical Officer at the Philippine Red Cross. “We deeply appreciate SAFC’s commitment to this cause. Consistent efforts like this help bridge the gap between patients in need and the life-saving support they rely on.”
As one of the Philippines’ leading and fast-growing non-bank financial institutions, SAFC has made blood donation an integral part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) program. The company holds bloodletting drives every February, June, and October, encouraging employees and partners to take part in these life-saving efforts, reinforcing a culture of compassion and community service.
“At SAFC, we believe in making a difference beyond financial services,” said Kevin John Cabanban, SAFC President and CEO. “Through initiatives like our blood donation drive, we hope to cultivate a culture of social responsibility among our employees and partners. A single donation can be the lifeline for someone fighting for survival, and we are proud to be part of that change.”
The bloodletting activity is a key initiative of SAFC HEROES, the company’s CSR program dedicated to championing health and wellness, environmental sustainability, and community development. Under the company’s 22nd year campaign #Brighter2morrow2gether, SAFC continues to seek meaningful ways to uplift Filipino communities and inspire collective action for a brighter tomorrow.
Through simple yet powerful acts like blood donation, SAFC urges more individuals and organizations to join the movement, lend a helping hand, and “Be Life Heroes.” Because in times of crisis, every drop counts—and together, we can save lives.
