Canon Marketing (Philippines), Inc. launched its 2025 Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives with a coastal cleanup drive at Baseco Beach in Tondo, Manila. The activity was held in collaboration with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and the Asia Society for Social Improvement and Sustainable Transformation (ASSIST).
The event brought together around 50 employee volunteers from Canon in a united effort to champion environmental protection and promote sustainable practices. Participants collected plastic waste and other debris along the shoreline, contributing to the restoration of the coastal ecosystem while raising public awareness about ocean conservation and responsible waste management.
“This coastal cleanup reflects our collective responsibility to protect the environment and make a meaningful difference through purposeful action,” said Anuj Aggarwal, President and CEO of Canon Marketing (Philippines), Inc. “At Canon, we believe that building a better future begins with the steps we take today. This initiative marks just the beginning of our CSR journey for 2025. With the dedication of our employees and our valued partners at ASSIST, we aim to inspire more individuals and organizations to embrace environmental stewardship.”
Beyond cleanup efforts, the activity served as a platform for education and engagement. Representatives from DENR and ASSIST conducted on-site learning sessions, guiding volunteers on proper waste segregation, recycling practices, and the environmental challenges faced by coastal communities across the Philippines.
As Canon Philippines rolls out its CSR roadmap for 2025, the company reaffirms its commitment to sustainability, community empowerment, and creating a lasting impact that goes beyond imaging.
