Staying Active Together: Herbalife Run Club Marks Global Running Day with 45-Day Challenge

In celebration of Global Running Day, Herbalife, a premier health and wellness company, community, and platform, is making fitness more engaging and sustainable through the Herbalife Run Club. Designed to foster motivation and connection, the club brings together employees and distributors in a supportive environment where they can pursue their fitness goals while building meaningful relationships with like-minded individuals.

The club also recently introduced a 45-day challenge in April as part of Herbalife FLEX45 Challenge. The challenge, a global initiative to mark Herbalife’s 45th anniversary, is a 45-day program focused on health, fitness, and personal development, encouraging participants to make positive changes in their lifestyle. In the Philippines, participants are encouraged to run or walk at least 5km a day, totalling 225km by the end of the 45-day challenge. The challenge culminated just before the Global Running Day, with over 200 participants from various parts of Philippines.

“With obesity rates in the Philippines nearly doubling over the past two decades, it’s encouraging to see more Filipinos embracing running. The rising interest in marathons and running clubs reflects how community support can make fitness both enjoyable and sustainable. At Herbalife, we believe that an active lifestyle, supported by proper nutrition and a strong community, empowers individuals to perform at their best and achieve their wellness goals,” says Allan Domingo, Director and General Manager of Herbalife Philippines.

This sense of shared wellness is reflected in the journey of Joyce Pring and Juancho Trivino, popular TV personalities and fitness advocates, who have also joined the Herbalife Run Club. The couple were recently introduced as the brand ambassadors of the Healthier Together campaign. The campaign features a series of programs such as wellness tours, educational workshops and quarterly community events designed to inspire active and healthy living across the country.

“After having our second child, Juancho and I thought staying fit would be tough—but it’s actually fueled our motivation,” Pring says. “We run to stay strong for our kids, to play with them, carry them, and set a healthy example. Even our meals and habits at home have changed. We’ve embraced healthy eating as a family, and now our kids love nutritious meals and staying active. It’s a lifestyle that’s changed all of us for the better.”

According to Ines Santiago, two-time Ironman champion and Herbalife brand ambassador, “Running keeps me strong – for myself and my family. It clears my mind, relieves stress, and sets a positive example for my kids. That’s why I love being part of the Herbalife Run Club – it brings people together, creating a supportive community that keeps us motivated and moving.”

To mark Global Running Day, Herbalife brought together its vibrant community for a celebratory run led by Allan Domingo, alongside brand ambassadors Joyce, Juancho and Herbalife employees. The run was a display of unity, energy, and shared commitment to leading active, healthier lives.

Running 101: Quick Tips to Get You Started

New to running? Here are 8 simple tips from Herbalife to help you hit the ground running—literally!

1. Running equipment

You don’t need much to start running but having a few essentials can make the experience more enjoyable. Invest in a good pair of running shoes, distance running socks, and comfortable clothing to support your stride and prevent injuries.

2. Listen to your body

If you’re not ready to run, start by walking. Alternate between walking and jogging until you find a pace that feels right. Always listen to your body—stop if there’s pain and be sure to warm up and cool down properly.

3. Train to time not distance

In the early weeks, focus on running for time (20–30 minutes) instead of distance. Once you’re able to run comfortably for longer periods, you can gradually increase your mileage.

4. Understand your phases

Start with steady-state training to build your aerobic base. Running at a moderate intensity helps your body adapt and teaches it to use fat for fuel—an important foundation before adding speed or longer distances.

5. Cross training

Complement your running with other activities like biking, swimming, or weight training. Cross-training will help you to get fit and prevent boredom.

6. Take technique one day at a time

Refining your technique doesn’t have to be overwhelming. Focus on one element at a time—whether it’s foot placement, posture, or arm movement—and build from there for long-term improvement.

7. Mix in some hills

Incorporate hill running or varied terrain into your routine. It challenges your muscles, especially the glutes, hamstrings, and calves, and helps build strength and stamina.

8. Rest!

Recovery is just as important as training. Schedule one to two rest days per week to allow your body to repair and come back stronger.

Whether you’re a seasoned marathoner or just starting, the Herbalife Run Club offers a space where you can challenge yourself, learn from experienced runners, and, most importantly, enjoy the journey. Take the first step toward a healthier, more active lifestyle – because running is more than just a sport; it’s a way of life.
