This holiday season, the OPM (Original Pilipino Music) Balladeer Ariel Rivera and Philippine Queen of Soul Jaya are bringing the magic of OPM on CenterPlay for a one-night-only concerts on December 3 and 17, respectively, at 9 pm.
Accomplished actor and singer-songwriter Ariel Rivera kicks off the celebration of timeless OPM hits on December 3, bringing his notable smooth vocals in his R&B and melodic pop music repertoire, which includes chart-topping hits including his first single “Sana Kahit Minsan”, “Simple Lang”, “Minsan Lang Kitang Iibigin”, and “A Smile In Your Heart”. Ariel Rivera rose to fame in the 1990’s and was known as “Kilabot ng Kolehiyala”. Many will remember that the OPM Balladeer and talented heartthrob’s first album was self-titled and released in 1991and was quickly followed by a second album titled “Simple Lang” a year after. Both albums achieved triple platinum status. His notable musical and acting career earned him awards including Awit Awards’ Best New Male Artist in 1991, Best Performance by a New Male Recording Artist in1992, and Best Supporting Actor at the 1992 Metro Manila Film Festival, to name a few.
On December 17, Queen of Soul Jaya is set to take the audience to a night of nostalgic musical journey through her soulful voice and electrifying presence. She made a mark in the industry for being the first Filipino music artist to have a song included in the Billboard Hot 100. The veteran music icon, who carved a successful career both locally and internationally, has been known for powerful hits including “Wala Na Bang Pagibig”, “Laging Naroon Ka”, and “Dahil Tanging Ikaw”. To date, she has released 12 studio albums.
Ariel Rivera and Jaya at CenterPlay follow the successful concert of Janno Gibbs in November. They join the roster of featured OPM stars at CenterPlay including Neocolours, Moira, Juan Karlos, Rey Valera, Noel Cabangon, Raymond Lauchengco, Ice Seguerra, “Soul Siren” Nina, Jinky Vidal, Jed Madela, Yeng Constantino, Daryl Ong, Imago, and The CompanY. The King of Soul’s anticipated concert also highlights performances from bands Highschool Playlist and Le Chic as well as from a DJ who are set to perform alternately from 7 pm to 2 am.
Guests can reserve a seat or a table with consumables starting at P3,000, comprising of bar nosh, burgers, fries, and beverages. VIP couch seats for a party of eight, and smaller seatings are also available.
