Disturbed’s new album Immortalized (Reprise) has debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top 200, marking the band’s fifth consecutive #1 album a rare distinction only achieved by one other hard rock band in the history of the chart: Metallica putting them in the company of a select group of global superstars to have earned five chart-topping debuts, including Madonna, Beyoncé, Eminem, Dave Matthews Band and U2. The highly-anticipated album marks the end of a 4-year hiatus for the Grammy-nominated hard rock titans, and features the hit single “The Vengeful One.” The song recently took the #1 spot at Mainstream Rock Radio, with Loudwire proclaiming “Expect ‘The Vengeful One’ to take its place alongside the band’s biggest hits.”
Critical Acclaim for Immortalized:
“From the sound of it, Immortalized will justify the long break and then some. A dense and coiled slab of hard rock-infused metal, the new effort finds the band firing on all cylinders, and perhaps at an even higher level than they did at the time of 2010’s Asylum…” REVOLVER
“Disturbed have been one of the most successful bands of the past 15 years, and that will continue with Immortalized…the album will hit the spot with the band’s legions of worshipers.” LOUDWIRE
“In a genre that is plagued with “same-ness,” this album is a breath of fresh air…These sound like arena songs, like they would be killer at a live show…it feels like Disturbed are in
a stronger place than ever.” ULTIMATE-GUITAR.COM
“The Vengeful One has exactly the sort of heavy, aggressive sound fans have come to expect from the group, but that’s not what they’ll get from the rest of Immortalized,
which is full of surprises.” USA TODAY
“Much of Immortalized should be instantly familiar to anyone that has ever headbanged along with [Disturbed’s] hits, but the new album also features a variety of musical surprises. The electronic-enhanced, melodic rocker “The Light” is the band’s most toned-down, radio-friendly number to date; and “The Sound of Silence” is an acoustic take on Simon & Garfunkel’s classic, revamped with a new piano line piano, weeping strings, and spare guitar.” YAHOO! MUSIC
“Immortalized stands out as 13 tracks of robust, raw, and real rock evocative of their breakthrough debut The Sickness but emblematic of the metallic precision and scope of Asylum. In that sense, these four musicians conjure the ultimate Disturbed album to date.” ARTIST DIRECT
