In the observance of the Holy Lenten Season, Cinema One and Jeepney TV are airing special programming from Maundy Thursday, March 24, until Easter Sunday, March 27.
At 5pm on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday, SKYcable Cinema One will feature the two-part movie “Mary.” Written and directed by American director Abel Ferrara, the film stars Juliette Binoche, Forest Whitaker, Marion Cotillard, Matthew Modine, and Heather Graham. The film premiered at the 2005 Venice Film Festival where it won the Special Jury Prize.
Meanwhile, “Sa’yo Lamang,” a a heart-warming family drama teaching us about love, faith, and life starring Christopher De Leon, Lorna Tolentino, Bea Alonzo, Coco Martin, Enchong Dee, Miles Ocampo, Shaina Magdayao, and Empress Schuck will air on March 24 at 11PM.
Capping off the series of Holy week specials on Cinema One on March 26 at 9PM is “Miracle in Lourdes,” a drama telling the story of the Virgin Mary’s miraculous appearance before Bernadette Soubirous, a simple 14 year old lass in the Grotto of Lourdes, in the South of France.
Jeepney TV will air for the first time the heartwarming movie “Sarah: Ang Munting Prinsesa” on Easter Sunday at 6 PM. The digitally restored and remastered version of the Star Cinema classic movie starring Camille Pratts and Angelica Panganiban is a 1995 Filipino family drama adapted from the 1985 Nippon Animation Anime, Princess Sarah.
