Andrea Bocelli achieves 10X Platinum in recognition for the outstanding combined sales performance of his various catalogue, including his brand new album “Cinema”; contributing over 150,000 units in physical and digital formats in the Philippines.

Bocelli’s record label in the Philippines, MCA Music Inc. (Universal Music Philippines), held a special Plaque Presentation backstage after his successful Manila concert. Among the Label Representatives present in the awarding were Archie Gormley (Director for Strategic Marketing in Asia, Universal Music Group), Ricky Ilacad (CEO, MCA Music), and MJ Juco (Strategic Marketing Manager, MCA Music).

Last April 26th, the Mall of Asia Arena was graced by the presence of the world’s most beloved Italian tenor, Andrea Bocelli, as he returned to promote his most recent album, “Cinema”. He first visited the Philippines in April 30, 2004 when he performed at the Araneta Coliseum.

MMI Live, the event producer, gave a memorable night that did not just offer the musical talent of Andrea Bocelli. The latter also shared the stage with Mexican soprano Maria Katzarava, Italian Flutist Andrea Griminelli, and last but not the least, Filipino theater actress Christine Allado. Allado is part of an all-female classical group called Zyrah, signed under Universal Music UK. Allado wowed the audience with her playful take on “Cheek To Cheek” as well as a stunning rendition of “Il Canto della Terra”, two duets which she gamely performed with none other than, Maestro Bocelli. Joining Bocelli and his special guests was the ABS-CBN Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Carlo Bernini and Gerard Salonga.

Andrea Bocelli’s “Cinema World Tour” highlights movie songs etched in the culture and hearts of several generations including epic theme songs featured in films such as Doctor Zhivago, Love Story, The Godfather, Life is Beautiful, Gladiator, The Postman, Breakfast at Tiffany’s and many more, as well as popular songs from stage musicals, immortalized by their film versions, such as West Side Story and Evita. Bocelli also performed his most notable opera hits such as “La Donna E Mobile,” “Nessun Dorma,” and “Con Te Partiro (Time To Say Goodbye).”

“Cinema” Special Edition – the brand new album from Andrea Bocelli is now available in CD+DVD at Astroplus/Astrovision. Download/Stream on digital stores via https://getmusic.lnk.to/CinemaSpecialEdPR.
