As Filipino families spend time together to reflect this Holy Week season, ABS-CBN airs timely and heartwarming movies on its Super Kapamilya Box Office (KBO) that highlights valuable lessons from Maundy Thursday to Easter Sunday.
For the first time, Super KBO airs its movies for four days as it seeks to enrich the Holy Week observance of families.
Headlining the Holy Week programming is “Ang Babaeng Humayo” starring Charo Santos-Concio as Horacia, a woman who spends 30 years behind bars for wrongful imprisonment but soon after her release, tracks down her former lover responsible for framing her to exact revenge.
The line-up also includes the religious-family drama film “Sa’Yo Lamang” which teaches families about having a strong foundation of love and faith, highlighting the importance of forgiveness. The movie stars Coco Martin, Bea Alonzo, Lorna Tolentino, and Christopher de Leon, among others.
Another family drama airing on Super KBO is John Lloyd Cruz’s “Honor Thy Father,” a story of a family in a financial crisis because of its involvement in a Ponzi scheme. John Lloyd’s character, Edgar, goes to great lengths to protect his daughter from harm.
Underscoring the value of sacrifice is the Coco Martin and Nora Aunor starrer, “Padre de Familia,” a movie that revolves around a young man forced to play the role of his family’s breadwinner after his father goes missing.
The digitally restored classic, “Kakabakaba ka ba?” that focuses on two pairs of lovers caught in the crossfire between dope-trading Japanese and Chinese agents, reflects on how the country’s economy and society is controlled by external forces who have selfish interests. The classic comedy musical is topbilled by Charo Santos-Concio, Christopher de Leon, Jay Ilagan, and Sandy Andolong.
Two other movies that are part of the Holy Week offering are Hollywood family dramas “Reservation Road” and “The Tree of Life.”
