A free training program hosted by Eastern Communications, this year’s Link 101 Workshop will be held in Makati (September 19), Pasig (September 26), Mandaluyong (September 28), Parañaque (October 3), Pasay (October 5), Taguig (October 9), Quezon City (October 10), Caloocan (October 16), Cavite (October 19), Laguna (October 24), and Pasay (October 25).
Eastern Communications also recently concluded Link 101 Workshops in Cebu and Manila.
The 2018 Link 101 Workshop focuses on cybersecurity and data privacy which can help companies handle possible cyber-attacks on their websites and digital assets, as well equipping them on how to keep their data safe.
According to the EY Global Information Security Survey 2017, 89% of respondents say their cybersecurity function does not fully meet their organization’s needs. Meanwhile, the 13th annual Cost of a Data Breach study, the industry’s gold-standard benchmark research independently conducted by Ponemon Institute reports that the global average cost of a data breach is up 6.4 percent over the previous year to $3.86 million.
Attendees are taught by experts on how to protect their data and businesses in online space and are also engaged in a group work to collaborate on solutions.
The Link 101 workshops are in line with Eastern Communications’ VIP Sapphire Club, a client recognition program where members get to enjoy a variety of perks and privileges that will further help them build their business. The workshop aims to support emerging businesses by providing free training on the latest programs and services to keep their business secure, as well as keeping them updated on the latest connectivity tools to help them improve efficiency.

DDoS attacks are one of the fastest growing threats in the cyber-attack landscape. This happens when a server is deliberately targeted with very large numbers of requests, in order to block or crash the server. The purpose is to make the target website go offline.
