Araneta Group and its social responsibility arm, the J. Amado Araneta Foundation (JAAF), have officially turned over donations for typhoon Odette survivors to the Philippine Red Cross (PRC). In a turnover ceremony on January 19 at the Gateway Tower, representatives of Araneta City and JAAF handed cash and essentials like sacks of rice, bottles of mineral water, noodles, canned goods, boxes of face masks, medicines, hygiene items, footwear, and undergarments to PRC officials.

The ladderized capacity-building program aims to enable smallholder farmers to use the internet and different mobile technologies to improve their livelihood. After the successful rollout of the DFP 101 basic course that benefited more than 1,500 individuals since 2019, farmers are now expanding income opportunities by applying skills developed from DFP 102, an intermediate course that makes use of more sophisticated digital farming tools and skills.

Premier telecommunications company Eastern Communications pledged over half a million-peso worth of support for those affected by the recent Typhoon Odette through the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Operation Blessing. Committed to its call to bring back the human connection in everything they do, Eastern Communications started a pledge project among its employees. This allowed them to collect more than Php 572,000 monetary support, which they donated to the said organizations in order to buy goods in kind for affected families in Typhoon Odette-devasted areas.

The Social Security System (SSS) is once again urging its members, pensioners, and employers to use its online services as the country continues to record a high number of COVID-19 cases. SSS President and CEO Aurora C.
