Skipping from one event to the other, I was rushing to get to SMX open grounds in front of Microtel hotel to witness a revolutionary presentation of ARIEL detergent powder. ARIEL goes 3D, a first of its kind in the Philippines. Coldplay’s fifth studio album, Mylo Xyloto (pronounced my-lo zy-letoe), was released in the Philippines last October 24 by Capitol Records through Polyeast Records. Male singing group Maasinhon Trio’s rendition of Basil Valdez’ classic OPM hit “Nais Ko” was voted as the best act by Filipinos here and abroad in the intense season finale of the country’s number one talent-reality show “Pilipinas Got Talent” held recently at the Ynares Sports Center. “We are very happy. We just proved that talent doesn’t come with age,” said Andrew Sanchez. The Maasinhon Trio, who is also the oldest grand winner for PGT, garnered 22.59% of the total text and online votes to be declared winner of the “Pilipinas Got Talent” season 3.

October 14, 2011 – I attended the press preview of The Sound of Music, which was a day before its actual public debut. As preparation, I watched the 1965 screen adaptation of the play starring the very charming Julie Andrews, just to refresh my memory of all the songs I grew up loving. The Sound of Music will be running from October 15 until the 11th of December 2011 in the state-of-the-art Newport Performing Arts Theater (NPAT) stage in Resorts World Manila.
