The stars of the National Basketball Association (NBA) descend upon ABS-CBN Sports + Action (S+A) this Christmas season as the country’s leading local sports channel showcases the rematch of last season’s finalists, defending champion Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors on December 26, as part of its “NBA Everyday Christmas Marathon.”
In a rare double-header airing, LeBron James and company take on Stephen Curry’s team with new addition Kevin Durant at 3:30am, followed by the 6:00am duel between the San Antonio Spurs and the Chicago Bulls, featuring the league’s best two-way players in Kawhi Leonard and Jimmy Butler, respectively. Livestreaming will also be available on www.iwantv.com.ph while same day replay of the games will start at 6pm on S+A.
The holiday celebrations of S+A went full throttle last week as it began its daily live airing of NBA games. The marathon continues until New Year’s eve, with the DeMar DeRozan-Kyle Lowry tandem of the Toronto Raptors going up against the Portland Trailblazers’ combo of Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum on December 27 at 11am, Gordon Hayward’s Utah Jazz battling the D’Angelo Russell, Julius Randle, and Jordan Clarkson led Los Angeles Lakers on December 28 at 11:30am, the Toronto Raptors going down to Oakland to try to topple the Warriors’ death machine on December 29, 11:30am, the Cavs facing the Isaiah Thomas led Boston Celtics the following day (December 30) at 9am. S+A concludes its “NBA Everyday Christmas Marathon” with the showdown of the top point guards in the league: Chris Paul and the Los Angeles Clippers and Russell Westbrook of the Oklahoma City Thunder at 9am on December 31.
Meanwhile, on “NBA SabaDOS,” local basketball legends Ronnie Magsanoc and Benjie “Papa Bear” Paras will be breaking down the Chicago @ Charlotte game at 8:30 am on December 24 and the Chicago @ Indiana on December 31, also at 8:30am on ABS-CBN.
